Saving the Christmas Tree

Ridge was not interested in the Christmas tree until we put the ornaments on it and turned the lights on. Then he wanted to touch and taste everything. We moved all of the ornaments that were breakable and had hooks to the top but even that didn't work. He apparently can try to eat anything. We finally resorted to pulling the couch out and putting the baby gate between it and the bookcase. He pulled it down but I tightened it and now he just stands there and tries to get his fingers through the holes. He comes back and tries to reach things a couple of times a day.
