I learned an important lesson yesterday...to never have a plan with kids. Usually when I take the kids to Lubbock I have several things to get done while we are there and then I have things that the kids want to do. We usually all end up coming home grumpy and with many things left undone. This does not make us want to go back and make ourselves unhappy again but I found a light at the end of the tunnel. The kids didn't have school yesterday so we thought we would go to Lubbock. We didn't have time to watch a movie because Reese had to be back at football practice at 4pm so we thought that we would walk around the mall. I did not have anything to do but buy some milk. To my surprise everything went great. We went to Old Navy, we ate lunch at "The Cracker Barrel", then we went to walk around the mall. We ran into Ashley, Anna and Grey and sat with them while they ate. Then we walked around and looked. We didn't get in a hurry, we bought things if the price was good and we laughed. It was a great day. I now know not to try to get any of the house things, my things or the grocery store done when I take the kids with me to Lubbock. These things will always wait until another day when they are in school. I feel so much better and so do they.
P.S I'm going to the grocery store tomorrow.
